Conservation District Election has Special Rules

Published on 1/30/2024
Elections for one supervisor position with the Whatcom Conservation District will be held on Tuesday, March 19.  Because of provisions in the laws that created the District, ballots will not automatically be mailed to registered voters by the Auditor’s Office.  To vote one must request a mail-in ballot by February 11 at https://whatcomcb.org/board-elections or by telephone at 360-526-2381.

The Whatcom Conservation District is an agency that helps farmers and landowners choose workable conservation measures for their properties.  It is governed by a Board of Supervisors consisting of five local residents elected by citizens or appointed by the Washington State Conservation Commission.  At least two of the elected supervisors and one of the appointed must own land or operate a farm in Whatcom County.

Every vote counts--request your ballot today!
