League Lobbies the Legislature

Robin Barker | Published on 1/13/2024
Who are the people that represent League at the Legislature? There is a team of issue experts (called Issue Chairs) who each specialize in a subject for which they come with expertise and remain well-informed. LWVWA's team is composed of member volunteers and one paid lobbyist. Meet the lobby team.

Your League has set some priorities for the 2024 Legislative session that kicked off on January 8.  The LWVWA's advocacy work is broken up into three areas—Making Democracy Work®, the Environment, and Social and Economic Policy—and includes 16 separate issues. Find a brief explanation of our aims in each area here.

How can you help and speak out for bills that are being debated?  Subscribe to the LWVWA Legislative Newsletter, published weekly starting on January 14.

This is one email you should open right away.  It provides links to let you quickly express your opinion about pending bills, but time is of the essence!  Legislators need our support to do their job.
