New LWV BWC Board Meets

The new Board of Directors met for the first time on Monday, July 11. As allowed by the bylaws, the Board appointed for one-year terms continuing members Candice Ambrosio and Jan Catrell. Also appointed to fill vacancies were Rebecca Johnson and Ruth Kirton. Recent bylaws changes assigned the responsibility of electing officers to the Board, which elected Robin Barker as co-president, Cindy Madigan as Vice President, Rebecca Johnson as Secretary, and Candice Ambrosio as Treasurer.
Another bylaws change authorized the board to adopt rolling membership, which it did. That means anyone joining the League at any time will have a full one-year term of membership. Formerly the membership year was from July 1 to June 30, which meant some people got more than a year or less than a year of membership depending upon when they joined.
The new Board is excited to get to work, and plans to meet for a retreat in a couple of weeks.
