Can Single Payer Universal Health Care Happen in Washington State?

Speakers Ronnie Shure, President, Marcia Stedman, Past President and Board Member Sarah K. Weinberg will review history, goals, advocacy, and coalition building efforts to provide Washington State with universal healthcare. Be ready to hear about their successful lobbying that helped pass legislation controlling health care costs and improving access to healthcare over the years.

Be ready to hear about the Washington State Health Care Commission that has been established by our legislature to provide coverage for all residents. And there are numerous other topics to cover: What is the Washington Health Security Trust and why is it so important to hear their recommendations? What other community, state, and national partners are proposing, promoting, and monitoring meaningful health care legislation in collaboration with Health Care for All ?

Come listen to why Washington State is one of a handful of states that are leading the way to build the path to universal health care for all state residents. Thanks to LWVBWC members Sheri Lambert, Donna Starr, and Don Starr for their expertise and coordination in presenting this program.

Health Care for All Washington is a non profit group established in 2005. Their mission is " to achieve high quality, sustainable, affordable, publicly financed, and publicly and privately delivered health care for all Washington Residents"
