2026 General Election Resources

Zoom forum screen

The League of Women Voters conducts election forums and interviews of candidates for both primary and general election races.  They provide opportunities to hear from candidates as they respond to questions from a moderator.  All candidates in contested races are invited to participate in Zoom forums and interviews.  Forums are guided by our board-approved Election Forum Policy.

LWVBWC policy requires a forum to be cancelled if there is only one candidate or if a candidate refuses our invitation or cancels.  The exception is when multiple candidates for similar positions (e.g., a council or school board) are participating in a forum together.  In that case the forum will continue as long as there are at least two candidates.  When a candidate declines our invitation, the reason provided will be posted on this page.

In the recordings below, candidate and moderator statements are presented complete and unedited, and without fact-checking.  Minor edits may be made if there are technical issues.  Any edits will be explained on this page.

Ballots will be mailed to voters on October 14, and must be placed in secure ballot boxes by 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.  If mailing your ballot, we strongly encourage you to mail at least a week early in order to ensure it is postmarked by election day.

Washington State Supreme Court

Your civil rights, civil liberties, taxes, safety— judges often have the final word.  Who will decide?   Who will be the guardians of our State Constitution? This November Washington voters will be choosing five out of the nine seats on the State Supreme Court.   Make sure that your vote is an educated vote.

Behind the Black Robes

A panel of three distinguished judges talks about what they do and what qualities a person needs to be an effective judge.

  • Judge Lee Grochmal, Whatcom County Superior Court
  • Judge Cecily Hazelrigg, Washington State Court of Appeals
  • Justice Sheryl Gordon McCloud, Washington State Supreme Court.
