Washington State Supreme Court

Positions 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7

Supreme_court_primary_interviews.png
The Washington Supreme Court is the top court in the state's judicial branch. It's on equal footing with the legislative and executive branches of state government, and it's the final court of appeal in Washington—meaning its rulings can't be appealed to any other state court. The Court's main job is to make sure justice is carried out promptly and in an orderly way, and to issue rulings on legal questions brought before it.

Five of the nine positions on the Court are on the ballot in this primary election; all are contested. Volunteers for the League of Women Voters of Washington have asked each candidate the same four questions, and the recordings are available  to help voters make informed decisions.
