ACTviaZoom Adds News Literacy Session!

Published on 3/11/2024
Many of you may already participate in the weekly ACTviaZoom sessions on Monday mornings. The state legislative session ended March 7th, but the action continues in this important election year.

The March 18 Zoom meeting, News Literacy for an Election Year, will focus on news and information in our current political environment. Voters with their own personal experience with the electoral process are well positioned to identify and authentically push back on mis- and disinformation within their own networks. The meeting is at 10:00 a.m.

Chelsey Cartwright, LWV US Program Manager for the Democracy Truth Project
will join us from the “other” Washington, where, in her work at the League, she strives to counter dis- and misinformation and to advance a better public understanding of the democratic and electoral process. Chelsey works with Leagues nationwide to develop and implement training sessions and events that advance this mission.

If you are already registered, you’ll receive links to the session automatically. Use this link to register: Events > Calendar > ACTviaZoom.

Links to recordings of previous sessions are on the LWVWA Youtube channel.
