Book Group to Discuss Solito, by Javier Zamora
About this event

At the March 25, 2026, meeting we will discuss Solito by Javier Zamora, which is the Whatcom Reads book for 2026.
Solito is a memoir published in 2023 and is based on Zamora's memory and journal about his harrowing trip walking across the southern border to reunite with his parents who lived in California. Zamora was nine years old at the time and had to trust a motley group of fellow migrants heading north.
Members are encouraged to attend a free event at Mt. Baker Theater and hear the author's presentation on March 13. More about Whatcom Reads & Solito here.
Our book group meets on alternate months to discuss a wide range of books selected by members. The topics are selected from issues of concern to the League and led by members of the group. The group meets in the Village Books Reading Gallery on the ground floor. Metered street parking is available, or take a bus: routes 1, 14 and 105 all pass through Fairhaven.
