This month’s featured volunteer is Lane Davis-Coury, who is active on the Healthcare Interest Team (“HIT”) and their Observer Corps for healthcare-related public meetings. Check out the
Healthcare Team webpage to read her latest blog post.
HIT members view Lane as 1) their Herder of Watchdogs (Observer Corps) and 2) Cheerleader of Thorns (their roles to figure problems out, set goals, and create action). “If you are meeting with Lane, know that she wants to meet you, to listen to your ideas, to participate in any amount you can. The meeting just becomes better! Her note-taking becomes an organic document, full of facts, observations, definition of issues, and goals. When it’s time to change the course of plans, we all speak”. And she cares for our community–you see her generous understanding of how we are all connected and hopefully can work better together.”
HIT team member Kim says, “Lane is a wonderment! Her eagle eye, research skills, and ability to organize information (as well as the troops!) have proven themselves time and time again. She is a role model for me and a tremendous asset to our local League.”
