The League of Women Voters of Bellingham/Whatcom County will hold our annual Member Meeting on Saturday, June 20th at the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship. We have only three member meetings per year and this is the big one in which we will pass a budget, elect board members and generally do our business for the year. We need a quorum for this meeting so we do appreciate you coming and participating.
Before calling the meeting to order we will have a very special keynote speaker. Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown will join us via Zoom to tell us about what he is doing at the state level to protect democracy and why our grassroots work here at home is more important than ever.
On the business agenda will be potentially changing our name from the League of Women Voters of Bellingham/Whatcom County to the League of Women Voters of Whatcom County. We have gotten feedback that our name, with Bellingham first, turns some people off in the county and limits membership and participation outside of the city.
Please put this on your calendar –
June 20th 10 to noon, Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship. The meeting will be hybrid.
We ask that you register in advance HERE to get the Zoom link(if you aren’t coming in person) and so that we can check on membership status. We must have a quorum of members for this work to proceed - please don't miss it!
