Keep up on Washington's Fight Against Unconstitutional Federal Actions

Published on 5/12/2026
Do you wonder what our State is doing to defend the rule of law, Congressional responsibilities, and long-established democratic institutions?

Washington State’s Attorney General, Nick Brown, has built on the record of former AG— now Governor—Rob Ferguson in challenging unconstitutional and illegal actions by the Federal government.  Since January 20, 2025, the current Attorney General, mostly in coalition with other attorneys general, has filed 58 lawsuits against the Trump administration. The barrage of unconstitutional attacks keeps coming, and it is hard to keep up with it, much less to keep track of our State’s legal responses, and how these responses are faring in the courts.

Happily, you can easily learn about these lawsuits by going to our website and clicking on Voting & Government followed by a click on Your Government.  There you will find the actions taken in 2025 categorized by subject matter and the actions taken so far in 2026 categorized by month.  Much credit for these postings is due to Marian Exall, who collects the information month after month, and to our webmaster, Robin Barker, who has presented the information so clearly on the Your Government page.
