LWVBWC's Book Group has selected a book to learn more about our interconnected relationships with migrant farmworkers who provide healthy, fresh food for our tables. The author is Seth M. Holmes, an anthropologist and physician, who invites us to read with an open mind and discover how we are all connected through agricultural food systems, political and economic systems, social hierarchies and health systems.
In the book you will meet real people who are working in the food industry-- some in Skagit County-- and understand how the author engaged with them and documented the social inequities that exist.
