Presentation on Punjabi & Sikh Culture

Harneet Kaur Matharu has offered to do a program for LWVBWC on Saturday, May 10 10:00 to 11:00 on the local Punjabi Sikh community including key aspects of Punjabi and Sikh culture, the history of Sikhs in Washington including the 1907 eviction of Sikhs from Bellingham and the meaning of the Arch of Healing and Reconciliation. 

Harneet Kaur Matharu is a presenter with the Chardi Kala Project which is an initiative that fosters connections between the Sikh community in Whatcom County and the broader public. .

Please join us if you have ever wondered what it is like to be Punjabi in Whatcom County and what supports there are for this community.   We will have time to visit and enjoy a cup of coffee after the talk.
