LWVWA State Convention: Stand Up for Democracy

Becca J Verda
Up your involvement in LWVWA by attending our state convention, Stand Up for Democracy, on June 6-8, 2025 in Vancouver at the Heathman Lodge.

Keynote speakers will be Dianna Wynn, LWVUS President, on Saturday night; and Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown, on Friday night. We will get current information from them about what the national League and the state of Washington are doing to Stand Up for Democracy. In addition, there will be a stand-alone Q&A session with Dianna Wynn, for members to ask, among other things, what people can do as individuals to Stand Up for Democracy and what LWVUS would like to see local Leagues do.

In addition to the plenary sessions where League business is conducted (election of state officers, and board, budget, Program of Work), there will be a number of learning and mingling opportunities throughout the convention including approximately 18 workshops, exhibits and a raffle.  Awards are given including the Dorothy Roberts Award named for late Mother-in-law of LWVBWC member Allison Roberts.

Our League has funds budgeted to help defray costs for convention.
