The Forum Team for 2024 is taking a well-deserved rest. Together with many additional volunteers, it produced short video interviews with the primary candidates for the House, for the PUD, and for the State Legislature from the 42nd District, videos for most of the 46 candidates for the Charter Review Commission, Zoom forums for general election candidates for the PUD and the House, and an in-person forum for candidates from the 42nd District, with full participation of the Civics and AP Government classes at Bellingham High School.
Special thanks are due to Kirsten Barron, who chaired the question-writing team, to Helen Campbell, who provided generous technical assistance and her valued advice, and to Eileen McCracken, who kept in close communication with the candidates and produced scripts for the forum moderators and documents for the candidates, despite her many duties as LWV President. Also to our forum moderators, Annette Holcomb, Rebecca Johnson, Michelle Kopcha, and again Eileen.
Many thanks also to our video interviewers—some of the people named above, and also Jan Catrell, Carole Hanaway, Michael Jay, Cindy Madigan, Joy Monjure, and Janet Ott. And to Katharine Adams, who organized the ancillary team for the in-person forum, and to our timers, Carol Cameau, Nancy Ging, and again Michelle Kopcha. Finally, for technical assistance with the Zoom sessions, Michael Jay. And for her immensely successful leadership and teaching, Jennifer Reidel of Bellingham High School.
The Forum Team is still looking for a co-chair. Anyone who is reasonably well-organized can do the job, which consists of coordinating the activities of the team. Might that be you, reading this?
