The Forum Team has set the dates for our fall candidate forums. The first will be for candidates for the Washington State Legislature from the 40th and 42nd districts. It will be held at Bellingham High School on Wednesday,
October 9, starting at 6:30 p.m. This forum will be run as a joint project with Jennifer Reidel’s BHS civics and AP American history students, so it combines public information with civics education.
The forum for candidates for Congress from the 2nd District will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday,
October 15. Both events will be covered live and rebroadcast by Bellingham TV.
The forum for Public Utilities District candidates will be by Zoom, on a date still to be determined, probably in late September.
We are not conducting a forum for the 46 candidates for the Charter Review Commission. Instead, each candidate is being asked the same three questions, in the format used for the candidates for primaries, and links to their videos will be posted on the League’s website by mid-September.
More detailed information will be presented in later editions of The Voter.
