Start the New Year by Learning About Charity Care at PeaceHealth

Published on 1/13/2025
In December the Healthcare Issues Team met in person.  The regulars who come to almost every meeting were there, but also new faces.  Fueled by good coffee, we got to know each other better and shared our concerns about healthcare.  Great suggestions for meeting topics emerged from the discussion.  We had a fun and productive morning.

The next meeting of the Healthcare Issues Team will be January 20th on Zoom from 10-11:30 am.  Jason Friend, Director of the Patient Billing Office at PeaceHealth, will join our meeting to discuss PeaceHealth’s charity care program and answer questions.  Medical bills can be expensive and may even result in bankruptcy.  What options does PeaceHealth provide for those who cannot pay their medical bills in full?  Join the Healthcare Issues Team on January 20th at 10am to learn more.

Additional interesting topics are planned for upcoming months. In February someone from The Arc of Whatcom County will discuss services available for individuals with disabilities in Whatcom County and, importantly, what is lacking.

Also, Donna Inglis and Amber Asbjornsen, who spoke with us last Spring about the PeaceHealth Palliative Care program, will be back with an update.  As always, I welcome your suggestions for topics and/or speakers.
