When you look at your ballot this election, you’ll be asked to vote for three candidates for the Charter Review Commission. What’s that all about? We can help!
LWVBWC volunteers have compiled basic information about the County Charter and the Charter Review Commission and recorded interviews with as many candidates as we could reach.
Here’s what you can do:
- Go to our website and find the Charter Review page
- Learn about the Charter Review Commission and why we are voting for members this year.
- Check out the district map to find out which district you are in—you are only voting for three commissioners to represent your district.
Further down the page, look for the candidate interviews for your district. Each interview is only about 8 minutes long.
Among the changes to the County Charter that the Commission may consider are alternative voting methods, like ranked choice voting. LWVUS promotes an open governmental system that is representative, accountable, and responsive. We encourage electoral methods that provide the broadest voter representation possible and are expressive of voter choices. *
